Iran-US tried to negotiate peace in Islamabad, Netanyahu call changed everything: Know how

Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi claimed that the US and Iran were inches away from a deal, but a phone call from Israel's President Benjamin Netanyahu derailed the talks. The Iranian side claimed that right after the call was made, US startedpushing Iran to accept new terms to end the war, including dismantlement of its uranium enrichment programme and the transfer of its existing uranium stockpile. Iran refused to accept these conditions and JD Vance flew out of Islamabad without making a deal.

New Delhi: Tehran has claimed that a phone call made to US Vice President JD Vance derailed what could have been the end of the Israel-US vs Iran war. The call came from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netahyahu, they said. The call according to Tehran was made right in the middle of negotiations.
