Parbhani: A spiritual journey turned into a scene of midnight carnage on Wednesday when a high-speed car crash at the Akoli Bridge claimed the lives of four young men and left another fighting for survival.
The group of five friends, all residents of Gangakhed, were reportedly travelling to the holy city of Ujjain for a pilgrimage. Their journey was cut tragically short around 12:15 AM, just four kilometres outside of Jintur city.
The fatal collision
The victims were travelling in a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga when the vehicle, reportedly moving at a high speed, became uncontrollable. As the car approached the Akoli River bridge, it veered sharply off course, slamming into the concrete parapet and railing with high force.
