The incident sparked fresh concerns in the capital at a time when the country is already grappling with political uncertainty.
The videos obtained by CNN showed flashes of light in the night sky, which appeared to include drone activity and anti-aircraft fire in areas close to the palace complex. The footage quickly circulated online, fuelling speculation about a possible armed confrontation.
