Mumbai: The BSE Sensex declined 76.28 points to close at 85,063.34. Intraday, it dropped 539.52 points to 84,900.10. The NSE Nifty went down 71.60 points to settle at 26,178.70. The benchmark indices declined as investors resorted to selling in blue-chips including Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, and worries over fresh warning from the US to further raise tariffs against India.

Surprisingly, Trent declined down 8.62 per cent even as the Tata group retail company reported a 17 per cent growth in standalone revenue to Rs 5,220 crore in the December quarter.
