Stock Market: Sensex drops over 1000 points, Nifty plunges; top laggards
The BSE Sensex plunged 1046.62 points to 80,240.56 in early trade on Monday. The NSE Nifty dropped 272.05 points to 24,906.60. The Stock Market benchmark indices plummeted as the US-Israel-Iran conflict has led to simmering tensions in the Middle East and a huge jump in crude oil prices.
Mumbai: The BSE Sensex plunged 1046.62 points to 80,289.44 in early trade on Monday. The NSE Nifty dropped 272.05 points to 24,906.60. The Stock Market benchmark indices plummeted as the US-Israel-Iran conflict has led to simmering tensions in the Middle East and a huge jump in crude oil prices.
IndiGo share declined by about 4.31% to Rs 4615 apiece. L&T stock with nearly 4 per cent loss at 4115. Adani Ports went down by 3.13%. Eternal dropped by about 2.92 per cent, UltraTech Cement by 2.26% and Trent by 2.24%.
HCLTech, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finance, Reliance Industries, M&M, and Maruti also registered a decline of 1% to 2%. Banking and IT stocks came under huge pressure Axis Bank fell by about 1.03%. SBI dropped by about 0.99%
