Kolkata: For eighth day on the trot, Sensex and Nifty closed in the red on Tuesday (September 30) after a volatile session. Like the earlier occasions, today’s trade was also marked by volatility and continuous selling of stocks by FIIs stake in Indian foreign fund outflows. At the end of the day’s trade Sensex dipped 97.32 points (0.12%) to settle at 80,267.62 points. On the other hand, Nifty declined 23.80 points (0.10%) to reach 24,611.10.

Analysts were of the opinion investors displayed caution ahead of the Reserve Bank of India announcing its interest rate decision on October 1.
