Kolkata: The Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange will remain shut on January 15, 2026 on account of the municipal corporation polls in Maharashtra. A circular issued by the NSE has announced the decision. Thursday is a full trading holiday for the capital markets. This marks a minor shift in its earlier announcement which said trading would continue but settlement operations would be suspended due to the civic elections. Normal trading across all major segments, including equities and derivatives, will again resume on Friday.
