Iran offered to transfer enriched uranium to ‘third country’ during ceasefire talks, says report

One of the most contentious issues between Iran and the US has been its enriched uranium stockpile, acting as a major reason for stalemate in ongoing peace talks as well. Tehran reportedly suggested diluting some of its enriched uranium while transferring the remaining stockpile abroad with guarantees that it would be returned if talks collapsed.

New Delhi: Iran has offered to move part of its highly enriched uranium stockpile to a third country as part of a new proposal to the United States, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
