New Delhi: A planned meeting between Iran and Gulf Arab states in Oman on the future of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been postponed, in a setback to diplomatic efforts aimed at easing tensions around the strategically vital waterway.
Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi said the meeting was postponed ‘in the interests of consensus’. Iranian officials said the delay followed requests from some regional countries. No new date for the talks has been announced.
