New Delhi: India has an estimated 190 nuclear warheads and enough military plutonium to potentially expand that stockpile to 225, according to a new assessment by the Federation of American Scientists (FAS).

According to the FAS assessment, India may have produced enough military plutonium for between 140 and 225 nuclear warheads. It estimates that around 190 warheads have actually been assembled.
