Eiffel Tower chief to step down after row over women staff during BAPS visit
Eiffel Tower operating company chief Patrick Branco Ruivo will leave his post at the end of 2026 after an investigation found ‘operational flaws and shortcomings’ that led to female staff being excluded during a private BAPS delegation visit.
New Delhi: The head of the company operating Paris’ Eiffel Tower will step down at the end of the year following a controversy over the exclusion of female employees during a visit by a Hindu religious delegation earlier this month.
Patrick Branco Ruivo, director general of the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE) since 2018, announced his departure after an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the September 5 visit by the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).
SETE said the probe uncovered ‘operational flaws and shortcomings’ in the planning and organisation........
