‘The Apprentice’ gets Oscar nods, Hollywood’s Trump welcome or sign of discontent
New Delhi: The much-awaited nominations for this year’s Academy Awards were announced late last evening. As is the norm every year, there were some surprises and some expected names. One name on the list caught ample attention and is being seen as related to the recent political shifts in the United States of America.
The Academy Nomination for the Best Actor was received by Sebastian Stan and for the Best Supporting Actor by Jeremy Strong for the movie ‘The Apprentice’. The 2024 biographical film is based on the career of current, newly-elected US President Donald Trump’s career as a real estate businessman in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s, especially detailing his relationship with attorney and then mentor-like figure Roy Cohn. Sebastian Stan got the Oscar nod for portraying Donald Trump while Jeremy Strong for portraying Roy Cohn.
