ISRO to launch Bluebird 6 satellite on 15 Dec with LVM3 rocket
New Delhi: AST SpaceMobile has revealed that the BlueBird 6 satellite will be launched by the LVM3-M6 rocket from India’s spaceport in Sriharikota on 15 December. The satellite was built in Texas and has been shipped to India for the launch. BlueBird 6 is the first of the next-generation satellites by AST SpaceMobile, sporting the largest commercial phased array in low Earth orbit, covering 2,400 square feet, which is a little larger than a tennis court. This is a 3.5 times increase in size over the first five BlueBirds, and supports 10 times the data capacity. The satellites provide broadband internet directly to smartphones.
