Second Amrit Bharat Express for Telangana to link Hyderabad with Thiruvananthapuram

New Delhi: Telangana is set to get another long-distance rail link under the Amrit Bharat Express programme, with a new service connecting Charlapalli in Hyderabad to Thiruvananthapuram. The train will be flagged off on January 23, 2026, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.

This will be the second Amrit Bharat Express service for Telangana, following the Charlapalli–Muzaffarpur route that is already operational. The new train aims to improve non-AC long-distance travel with modern amenities at affordable fares.

The weekly service will run with train number 17041, departing Charlapalli every Tuesday at 7:15 am........
