Rajasthan’s Bheru Baba fair returns with record 800 quintals of churma, 11,000-woman Kalash Yatra |
New Delhi: The historic Lucky Fair is set to be held once again at the renowned Bheru Baba Temple, located in Kalyanpura Panchayat of Kohra village in Rajasthan’s Kotputli region. The main fair will take place on January 30, while the formal inauguration will be marked a day earlier with a grand Kalash Yatra on January 29.
Situated at the foothills of a mountain range, the centuries-old temple attracts devotees in large numbers every year. This year marks the 17th edition of the annual fair, and the surrounding villages are already witnessing an atmosphere filled with devotion and celebration.
One of the most striking features of this year’s fair is the preparation of churma prasad on an unprecedented scale. For the first time, modern machinery, including a JCB, is being used to level and process massive heaps of grain laid out in open fields.
