The dominant narrative right now is this: if Vijay forms the government in Tamil Nadu, it would be the greatest affirmation of the people’s mandate.
A whole ecosystem is busying itself with investing this thesis with morality. Naturally, this formulation has whipped up massive sympathy for Vijay, especially when it seemed that he would be left hanging by the Raj Bhawan.
