Iryna Zarutska’s killer and more: Letters to the Editor — April 12, 2026

Decarlos Brown Jr., who butchered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska, has been found “incapable to proceed” on murder charges (“NC rail slay trial delayed,” April 9).

This is the same animal with at least 14 previous arrests. He was never found incapable in those other 14 crimes. But now that the death penalty is on the table, all of a sudden he’s mentally unstable.

Somehow, I think if the races were reversed, he would have been electrocuted in a New York minute.

Just in time for midterms, the left reminds voters why they dislike Democrats

The Artemis II adventure is going well, reminding Baby Boomers of the Apollo program and inspiring the youth of today to look up — especially to look up from their phones (“Over the moon at farthest reach,” April 7).

We can hope this will continue; that people land on the moon again, head for Mars and do whatever comes next.
