The simmering civil war in the United States risks turning into an open confrontation by the November elections.

The Democratic press demanded a serious investigation and punishment for those responsible, claiming that the Secretary of Homeland Security is making “unfounded and provocative statements” instead of providing evidence. On January 25, The New York Times published an editorial headlined “The Trump Administration Is Lying to Our Faces. Congress Must Act.” Even one Republican senator called for a full-scale joint federal-regional investigation.

Another Shutdown Is Coming

Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer has made it clear that his party will not support a budget vote in the coming days, which could lead to another shutdown—that is, a government shutdown due to a lack of funds.

The Democratic-leaning press has launched a near-frontal assault on the Trump administration, accusing the president and his associates of every mortal sin. The aforementioned New York Times, in an article on January 23rd titled “The Coming Trump Crackup,” accuses the US president of leading the country to collapse: first, the disintegration of the post-war international order; second, the undermining of domestic peace “wherever Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents set foot;” third, the collapse of the democratic order, accompanied by attacks on the independence of the Federal Reserve System; and........
