The Russia-North Korea strategic partnership is reshaping Northeast Asian security through growing political, military and economic cooperation, while also highlighting Russia’s expanding strategic role and the emergence of a more multipolar Eurasian security environment.
Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin said, “I am convinced that the expansion of cross-border transport infrastructure will provide a powerful impetus for the further development of trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation.” The project is officially presented as a means of facilitating trade, tourism and cross-border cooperation, but when viewed through a broader lens, the bridge represents a manifestation of a deeper alignment in Northeast Asia.
