Planning to make a donation to help others this Christmas? Maybe a contribution to a children’s hospital, a fund that provides snow suits for kids, a group that offers Christmas meals to the poor or perhaps some money in the Salvation Army kettle?

But what about Ontario’s loveable political parties? If they aren’t on your Christmas list, they’d sure like to be.
The PCs are in full fundraising mode, desperate to raise $250,000 by year’s end, with just a couple of weeks to go for donors to get the deduction for 2025. They aren’t alone. An Ontario Liberal spokesperson says, “We are currently fundraising through email, digital advertising, mail, and phone calls to supporters.” Go to the Ontario Liberals’ website and the first thing you see is a flashing donate button and the words: “Give $60, get $45 back.” The
