With a speed that lightning metaphors would insult, your National Post’s comment section has already published a couple of items about Wednesday’s shock defection to the Liberals of Sarnia MP Marilyn Gladu, who had been re-elected to the House of Commons as a Conservative less than a year ago. These pieces establish that Gladu was one of the most radical and highly visible conservatives in the House, and one of the fiercest critics of the Mark Carney Liberals. She’s also been renowned, when not saying stuff that eventually required an apology, for her attentive, friendly nature as an MP and as a parliamentary colleague.
