Apparently not much, judging by the several elected officials who have recently crossed the floor at both the federal and provincial levels.
The latest example is Michael Ma, the federal MP for Markham–Unionville in Ontario. On the final day of the parliamentary session, Ma defected from the Conservatives to join the Liberals. His move follows that of Nova Scotia’s Chris d’Entremont, who
