Residents told 'you don't own the road' as parking wars near City station turn ugly

Liverpool ECHO readers have been discussing the news that motorists who parked near a railway station were shocked after returning to find their cars vandalised with spray paint. The damage occurred on Woolton Road in Garston on Wednesday, October 15, between 8am and 4pm. Witness photographs shared with the ECHO showed a black Mercedes and a black Audi streaked with white spray paint across their passenger doors, while a white Kia on the same street had been sprayed with black paint.

A local resident told the ECHO commuters often use Woolton Road for parking when travelling to Liverpool South Parkway station, just a six-minute walk away. Locals recently put up warning signs stating "residents parking only," and the resident suggested the vandalism may have followed the installation of these notices.

Merseyside Police have been notified of the criminal damage. The station offers 311 free parking bays, though overnight parking is prohibited at Merseyrail park and ride facilities.
