My rules on when and how to complain about bad service
There’s a fine line between complaining about something because you have to, and just complaining for the sake of it.
I would describe myself as a moaner rather than a complainer. When it comes to complaining in a restaurant or a hotel or the like, I will hold out for as long as possible.
If the food is bad I would have to be honest: if something is inedible or undercooked, I think it’s fair game to mention it. Undercooked plain pink chicken is not for me!
But I would never complain if it’s obvious that someone is having a terrible day, which happened to me recently with someone who worked at an energy company. They were just so rude to me over email and I simply said it’s obvious you’re having a bad day, it happens to the best of us.
I do find it frustrating that my husband will never complain – he would hold out for the rest of his life because to even suggest something isn’t up to par is against his very........
