A blonde bombshell touching down in New York and making waves with the press pack.

No, not Boris Johnson, but the new Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss. She has been attracting attention this week as she accompanied the Prime Minister across the pond in her first official outing since her promotion to the great office of state.

Her appointment as Foreign Secretary, following Dominic Raab’s demotion, meant that Truss was the big winner of Johnson’s Cabinet reshuffle. But it also meant she had little time to settle in when it came to her big ministerial step up.

On the day of her appointment, the Government announced the historic Aukus pact – uniting the UK, US and Australia in a defence deal aimed at countering Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific.

While she and her team did find time for some celebratory Honest Burgers, it wasn’t long before she had to jet off on her first trip – to the United States and then Mexico.

In the past week, the new Foreign Secretary – the first Conservative woman to hold the position – has chaired a meeting of the UN Security Council, a G20 meeting of foreign ministers on Afghanistan and held over 15 meetings with heads of state and foreign........
