LeAnn Darland and Tara Hankinson both love beer. What they don't love are the beer bros with attitudes -- beverages with names like Arrogant Bastard, and the dark, industrial taprooms that seem to cater to that exact audience. That's why they started Talea Beer Co., to create a brewery and taproom that's approachable, inclusive, and more female-friendly.

Darland fell in love with craft beer while she was in the Navy and stationed in San Diego, which was at the center of the microbrewing boom in the 2010s.
