The newest iPhone, a low-cost MacBook, and a faster iPad are expected to be among the products launched at a “special Apple experience” on March 4 in New York, London, and Shanghai.

Bloomberg reports the invitation-only media events are likely to be headlined by the introduction of the $599 iPhone 17e, featuring an A19 chip, MagSafe support, and a Dynamic Island display.

Apple is also expected to unveil its most affordable MacBook to date in an array of “fun colors.” With a budget-friendly starting price of $699, the new model is powered by an A18 Pro chip from the iPhone 16 lineup rather than the Mac-optimized Apple Silicon. The iPhone 17e will supposedly tout a smaller 12.9-inch screen and an aluminum shell instead of plastic.

The company’s higher-end 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are being upgraded internally with the more powerful M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, which offer improved performance and energy efficiency.

The high-end M5 processor will also be the base of the new version of the MacBook Air, the thinner, lighter alternative to the MacBook Pro. No significant design changes, however, are anticipated.

In addition, Apple is expected to spotlight a refreshed iPad (12th generation), an entry-level tablet powered by a faster A18 or A19 chip and 8GB of RAM, enabling support for Apple artificial intelligence features. And the iPad Air (7th generation with M3), released last year, is getting upgraded with the M4 chip.

Possible updates to Apple TV hardware, the Mac Studio M4 Max CPU, and the Apple Studio Display 2 with a 27-inch Mini-LED panel might also be announced at the upcoming event.

The “special Apple experience” marks a departure for the corporation’s launches, which typically have been staged at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, and hosted by CEO Tim Cook and other top executives.  The showcases are usually livestreamed on Apple’s website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube, but the company has yet to announce whether a livestream is in the offing for March 4.
