The New LinkedIn Algorithm Rewards This One Thing. Are You Doing It?

You don’t need more posts. You need a clearer signal.

The old game of chasing algorithmic hacks is over. The new game rewards one thing: being genuinely, clearly, consistently yourself. Based on these two LinkedIn algorithm updates, you should take a second look at how you show up on the platform.

The first update reads your profile like a highly informed colleague that includes your headline, your About section, and your experience. Then, it uses that to decide whether your content reaches the right people.

The second update watches behavioral patterns, processing over a thousand of your recent interactions to understand who you are professionally and who should see your work.

I have a love-hate with social media, including LinkedIn. Sometimes I’m all in — posting, commenting, and engaging. Then I get burned out and go quiet. The algorithm does not reward that behavior. As a second-act founder who is just getting started, I know the importance of being seen, And the numbers of professionals on LinkedIn speak for themselves.

How Anthropic's Claude AI Became a Co-Founder

I spoke with Holly Joyner, founder of The Story Spark, who emphasized the important connection between being a founder and showing up on LinkedIn,

“If you want to be a founder who shows up where their people are,” she said. “You’ll figure out how to make LinkedIn part of your funnel.”

She’s right, and the data makes the case even harder to ignore.
