Sleep duration — how many hours of sleep you get per night — gets plenty of attention, if only because it’s easy to measure. Tons of studies show not getting enough sleep is linked to cardiometabolic disease, a shorter lifespan, a greater risk of mental decline, obesity….
The literature clearly shows that getting enough sleep makes you less healthy now, and more likely to die sooner than you otherwise might.
