Robinhood’s New Fund Let’s Anyone Invest in Y Combinator Startups, With a Catch

The retail investing platform just announced a venture fund that will invest in current and former YC ventures.

Y Combinator, the powerhouse startup accelerator and investment firm that’s backed everything from Reddit and Coinbase to DoorDash and Airbnb, is one of the biggest hubs of startup development in Silicon Valley. If a tech venture makes it big, the odds are decent that it came out of YC.

Now, the popular retail investing platform Robinhood is turning that tech sector wisdom into an actual investing thesis. Earlier this week, the asset trading platform announced that it will soon be launching a new investment vehicle, the Robinhood Ventures Fund II, that will focus on backing current and former YC companies as well as firms run by former YC........
