From Riviera to Sunrise, Trump’s dream for a luxury Gaza takes shape
In the beginning, it was supposed to be the “Gaza Riviera”; now it is “Project Sunrise.” The new plan for Gaza devised by the White House was revealed by The Wall Street Journal: on the rubble of a people, they are planning to build hyper-technological buildings, vertical gardens, high-speed trains and luxury apartments: “100,000 residential units, more than 200 schools and 75 hospitals, 180 mosques and cultural centers.”
“Gaza Smart City” is a project with an estimated cost of $112 billion for the first 10 years, designed by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and his envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff (not coincidentally, a real estate developer himself). Washington is set to sponsor Project Sunrise by covering 20% of the costs in the form of loans, purely for profit: rebuilding the Strip will be an astronomically profitable business venture,........
