A 38-year-old grandparent, who has a young baby herself, has asked others for alternative names to “grandma” that “won’t feel weird” because of her young age.
She explained that her stepson has had a baby and she’s now a grandma: “My ex was quite a bit older than me … I raised this kid for 13 years before he moved away as an adult, so he’s my son through and through.
“38 is entirely too young to be a grandma ... But I need to sign the ‘from’ on her Christmas gift,” said the new grandparent on Reddit.
“What’s an alternative to grandma that won’t feel so weird?!?!? My oldest biological child is 13 and my youngest is 7 months, I just can’t wrap my brain around being called ‘Grandma’.”
