Gwen Stefani is catching heat over a Christmastime partnership with a prayer app that appears to have ties to right-wing causes and politics.
The Grammy-winner kicked off December by inviting followers to join her and “millions of others” in a daily prayer challenge through the app, Hallow.
“It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer,” Stefani said in a video posted on Dec. 1. “That is what Christmas is all about: letting God into our hearts and letting Jesus bring us his peace.”
The post was marked as part of a paid partnership with Hallow, which offers access to a catalog of Catholic prayers, meditations, audio-guided Bible stories and praise music for $70 a year.
Stefani’s spon-con caught the eye of activist and influencer Matt Bernstein, who dug into the app’s background and called out the pop star
