Vladimir Putin does not “know what to do” after Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron pinned down new security guarantees for Ukraine, according to a former Russian prime minister.
The UK and France agreed to put troops on the ground in the war-torn country if a peace deal with Russia is reached after a pivotal Coalition of the Willing meeting on Tuesday.
The US welcomed the news as a “big milestone” rand a step towards a settlement with Russia – before announcing the White House would also offer up security protocols which “deter” any future attacks on Ukraine.
Donald Trump’s officials said they would “defend” the nation if those deterrents failed, too.
The Kremlin did not immediately reply.........
