Poldark star Aidan Turner has been announced as the latest cast member to join season three of The Diplomat.

While details of Aidan’s mysterious role are currently being kept under wraps, Deadline has reported that the Rivals actor is set to feature in a recurring guest role for the political drama’s third outing.

The casting news comes after The Handmaid’s Tale actor Bradley Whitford was also announced as a new addition to the season three cast in the role of Todd Penn, the husband of President Grace Penn, played by his former West Wing co-star Allison Janney.
