Strictly Come Dancing bosses have refuted a recent story in the press alleging that the show could be about to undergo a major behind-the-scenes change.

On Monday evening, The Sun published a story claiming that bosses were considering moving Strictly from its current home at Elstree Studios, Borehamwood to Media City in Salford, a potential change the tabloid described as “seismic”.

The article also suggested the move could be beneficial in terms of casting, given that many soap actors and top footballers are based in the North of England.

However, a spokesperson has already poured cold water on the story.

“There are no plans to move Strictly Come Dancing,” a rep for the show told
