'Unconscionable': Liam Neeson Faces Intense Scrutiny Over Role In New Anti-Vax Doc
Naked Gun actor Liam Neeson has come under fire for his involvement in a new anti-vaccine documentary.
Neeson, a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2011 who praised vaccines as one of the “biggest collective achievements in human history” just three years ago, provides narration for Plague of Corruption: 80 Years of Pharmaceutical Corruption Exposed.
The documentary bills itself as an examination of “how pharmaceutical giants systematically captured governments and deceived families and communities worldwide.” It features interviews with anti-vaxxers, such as Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whose HHS leadership has been condemned by medical experts and critics over the past year.
Plague of Corruption is based on a book co-authored by a pairof anti-vaxxers and published by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group that Kennedy founded.
Neeson’s role in the film, first reported by the Important Context newsletter on Thursday, involves him calling mRNA COVID-19 vaccines “dangerous experiments,” painting mainstream scientists as “fanatics” and maligning emergency COVID-19 lockdowns.
“Thousands of lives were lost, not to the virus, but to the mental anguish brought on by these harsh restrictions,” Neeson reportedly said.
