After keeping us waiting for almost three years, Netflix has finally dropped the second season of Wednesday.

Or, rather, the first half of the second season is now streaming, anyway. The second part is still just under a month away.

With the first four instalments now streaming, critics have had their say on what fans should expect from Wednesday’s latest adventures – and whether fans’ patience is rewarded in these new episodes.

Fortunately for creator Tim Burton and lead actor Jenna Ortega, the general consensus is that Wednesday season two is off to a strong start, with the new batch of episodes serving as worthy follow-ups to the show’s record-breaking first run.

In fact, even those criticising the show for becoming “formulaic” concede that it still makes for binge-worthy viewing.
