The deaths of two political giants, Sheila Jackson Lee and Sylvester Turner, were heartbreaking blows for Congressional District 18. Now, we stand at a turning point that could bring a new generation of leadership.
After nearly a year without representation, it's an urgent call not only for strong representation ready for the fight, but also for someone younger who can withstand the pitfalls that come with the job. Many residents of District 18 with whom I've spoken say the same thing: After losing Jackson Lee, then Turner, the community needs leadership with the energy to battle hard and the stamina to go the distance.
We can't take another hit.........
