You know, as First Minister of Scotland I get to travel a lot. And everywhere I go, I’m always asked the same question: what does the SNP stand for, apart from Scottish independence. My answer is always the same: how do you know we even stand for independence?
Reducing this wonderful old country of ours to a debate about independence is actually quite insulting. This is just one of many ways that the Far Right try to undermine us. They mislead people into thinking that independence is all we're capable of. It’s a lie. And, like Javier Bardem in those thought-provoking Uber Eats adverts, “I've had enough.”
In many, many ways my values in government are informed by my deep-rooted Christian convictions. I see Jesus in everyone and that's why everyone's opinion is special to me. I'm all about agreeing with everyone because that means I'm agreeing with Jesus himself.
In many, many other ways, 2026 will be an important year for the Scottish people. In May, I’ll be leading my party into the Scottish elections on a firm commitment to make Scotland a sovereign state. Our mission statement is: INSPIRE: Independence Now or at Some Point in the Related Era.
