Curtain up on 2026: The Scottish theatre shows set to change your life this spring
Honestly, the following words are not hot from the Christmas book of hyperbole. They’ve not been typed up while high on mulled wine and wild imagination. Watching the following Spring theatre shows in 2026 will certainly change your life for the better.
First up, there’s The High Life, The Musical, Still living it!, featuring the misadventures of an almost entirely useless cabin crew, with Alan Cumming, Forbes Masson Siobhan Redmond and Patrick Ryecart reprising their original roles as Sebastian Flight and Steve McCracken.
This show is certain to have a major impact, not simply because it’s co-written by comedy giant Johnny McKnight, but it offers both nostalgia - plus blinding modernity. It’s a great reminder of how we wallowed in the high campery of the BBC TV series 30 years ago – and don’t we desperately need camp fun in the New Year? - but we learn now that Air Scotia has been sold. And the dramatic plot vehicle in this airyplane story underlines the notion of corporate insensitivity and bean counter mentality. We’re all entirely indispensable.
And unless our intrepid cabin crew can prove they’re still fit for purpose it looks like the future destination for Air Scotia is the scrap heap.
