Q: Does eating sugar cause diabetes?A: Sugar alone does not directly cause diabetes. Type 2 diabetes develops due to several factors, including genetics, excess body weight, inactivity and an unhealthy diet. However, regularly consuming too much sugar should be avoided as it can contribute to weight gain and increase diabetes risk.

Q: Can a person with diabetes never eat sweets?A: Not necessarily. Diabetes does not mean a lifetime ban on sweets. Small portions can occasionally be included within an appropriate diet, but blood sugar control and overall carbohydrate intake matter.

Q: Does high blood pressure always cause headache?A: No. Most people with high blood pressure have no symptoms at all. You may feel perfectly well while your blood pressure is high. The only reliable way to know is to measure it.

Q: If my blood pressure becomes normal, can I stop my medicine?A: Not on your own. It may be normal precisely because the medicine is working. Stopping treatment suddenly can cause blood pressure to rise again. Any reduction or withdrawal should be discussed with your doctor.

Q: Is brown sugar healthier than white sugar?A: Not significantly. Brown sugar and white sugar contain similar amounts of sugar and calories. Brown sugar should not be considered a healthy substitute, particularly for people trying to control weight or blood glucose.
