There are some collaborations that are partnerships on paper. And then some collaborations become meaningful because two institutions bring together their strengths, experience and intent for a cause that matters to people. The JK Obesity Summit, the 2nd Annual International MMFDIACON-2026, was one such occasion.

My first and foremost gratitude goes to Prof. (Dr) Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal/Dean, Government Medical College & Associated Hospitals, Srinagar and Patron of the conference, for her gracious support and encouragement. I am equally grateful to Prof. (Dr) Sandeep Kour Bali, Principal/Dean, Government Dental College & Hospital, Srinagar, for extending the warmth and institutional support that made the venue and the event possible. Both leaders brought dignity and encouragement to an initiative that sought to take an important medical conversation beyond the confines of one speciality. But the biggest expression of gratitude must go to the Department of Endocrinology, GMC Srinagar. For CISA, Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies on Ageing, Moul Mouj Foundation, it is a matter of genuine pride and privilege that the Department of Endocrinology, GMC Srinagar, chose CISA as its partner for this important conference. The collaboration itself reflected what the summit was trying to say: obesity does not belong to one department, one doctor or one discipline. It belongs to all of us.

A very special word of appreciation goes to Dr M. Hayat Bhat, HOD, Department of Endocrinology, GMC Srinagar and Organising Chairman, who conceived the theme of obesity for this year’s conference and gave the academic programme a subject that is increasingly relevant to almost every family and every speciality.

My sincere thanks also go to Dr Mir Shahnawaz, Co-Organising Chairman, for his constant support, guidance and........
