Reaching out to Kashmiri youth

At this point in time, there is an urgent need to reach out to the youth in Jammu and Kashmir in an innovative fashion. The old methodology of lecturing them against travelling on the path of guns and grenades is becoming obsolete, for the simple reason that the kind of situation doesn’t exist anymore.

The situation of daily violence has faded from the collective memory of the people. The newest generation is unaware of the violence-ridden history of the place. They have heard stories but cannot connect with those horrific realities of the yesteryear. Or, it may be said that they refuse to see that as their legacy. This is a positive sign.

In recent weeks, a series of meetings have been held to review the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir against the backdrop of murderous brutality of April 22nd 22nd in Pahalgam in Kashmir, November 10th Delhi blast in 2025. These incidents pointed out two things: The enemy was active in bleeding Indian citizens. They also hit hard at the economy and psychology of the nation.
