Anti-vax decision may be a rash one

Many people have a back to nature philosophy that they feel will better put them in touch with their inner spirit.

I have never understood this attitude. Nature is a killer!

Nature wants you dead before you reach 30 and wants to kill 80 per cent of your children by various nasty means.

It was not until the 18th century that total life expectancy climbed past 40 years.

All in all, we have beaten back nature’s attacks on us.

And, yet, we are now facing resurgences of illness that we have the knowledge to prevent and also the infrastructure in place to ensure that everyone is protected. It’s the once-common illness measles, characterized by a high fever, cough, runny nose, red-watery eyes, and white spots in the mouth that begins two to three days after infection. Three to five days later comes the distinctive rash.

Measles is not a harmless childhood disease. It has killed many people over the years and has the potential to kill many more.
