By not selling his shares in Truth Social’s parent company at his first opportunity to do so, Donald Trump has made a small fortune.

After years of delays due to government investigations, Trump Media & Technology Group completed its merger to go public on March 25. The next day, shares began trading on the NASDAQ under the ticker DJT. The stock shot up to an all-time high that first day, reaching $79.38. Trump, who owned 78,750,000 shares at the time—57.3% of the company—was sitting on shares worth $6.3 billion.

Trump wasn’t allowed to cash in immediately, though. The former president and eight other insiders were contractually restricted from selling or transferring their shares until the earliest of one of three events........
