Thai billionaire Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth—cofounder of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BMDS) and controlling shareholder of Bangkok Airways—passed away peacefully on Tuesday at the age of 93.

Prasert became a surgeon after graduating from Siriraj Medical School in Bangkok in 1960. Nine years later, he teamed up with fellow doctors to establish BDMS with a vision to create a network of modern private hospitals that will make quality healthcare services accessible to Thais.
