BIGGER PICTURE: Lost and – thankfully – found
Kim and Joe Petralia of Geneva have a 5½-year-old longhair Dachshund/Corgi mix dog named Luna. Like so many of us that own dogs, she is an important member of the family. They got Luna from the Make A Difference Rescue organization that saved her from the streets of Puerto Rico.
Actually, Luna’s original name was Lulu before it was changed. The pooch had some trauma and special-needs issues initially, but, after some hard work and, most importantly, love, she has overcome them to a point where she has truly won their hearts.
On Oct. 4, the couple headed west to Albion in Orleans County for a wedding. Normally, Luna goes everywhere with them. However, since it would involve leaving Luna in the hotel room for too long, they decided to leave her home and have some good friends watch her.
