BIGGER PICTURE: Boring photo, interesting story

I wrote the above headline because the photo alone wasn’t going to draw in readers. But I think many will find this week’s “Bigger Picture” content worth a look.

Stephanie Buisch of Clifton Springs bought a two-family home as an investment in 2020. She currently is selling real estate for Your Hometown Realty LLC in Phelps, and I must say she is knocking it out of the park.

Easy to see why. Simply, she is one of the nicer, more honest people you will meet. I know firsthand; I worked with her at the Finger Lakes Times some years back.

We’ve all heard the saying “Nice guys finish last.” Hopefully, that won’t be the case here, but you get the general gist.

When Stephanie purchased this Clifton Springs home, the upstairs apartment was vacant and the downstairs unit had a long-term tenant, Luanne King.

Being the good soul she is, as the new owner Stephanie didn’t raise Luanne’s rent. It has remained at $700 a month — darn good rent for a two-bedroom place. Luanne is getting such a good deal, according to Stephanie, partly because she only receives some sort of disability income. Stephanie was just trying to do the right thing and let the transition of buying the place go smoothly.

Not too long ago, Stephanie got a call about a problem with the kitchen........
