PUB CHAT: Shouting for the playoffs

In the rich, 64-year history of the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills, it is probably safe to say — in fact, “likely” may be a better word than “probably” — that the lyrics to their fight song have never been more appropriate than this season.

The Bills make me wanna shout!

They sure do, don’t they?

Back on Nov. 26, after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Bills were 6-6, and three of the remaining five teams on their schedule were the Chiefs, the Cowboys and the Dolphins, among the best teams in the league. Buffalo was in serious danger of not making the playoffs.

And their fans were shouting in frustration.

Now, just five weeks — and five consecutive wins — later, the 11-6 Bills are AFC East champions and the No. 2-seeded team in the AFC postseason tournament.

And fans are shouting for joy and hoping for a long run in the postseason, which begins with a home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday afternoon.

Joining all those Bills fans with the feeling of joyous enthusiasm are a number........
